the little things /12

i have enjoyed writing these 'little things' posts over the past year. it is a nice reminder to stop and think about the little things that make me smile or brighten up the day and it has definitely made me appreciate the every day details more. i am excited to continue it this year and see where it leads. xoxo

a new bookshelf means endless rearranging...
a new haircut, it's been a few weeks but i am so glad i decided to chop off a few inches

pillows

after the holiday decorations come down and the grey winter sets in, i always get the desire to rearrange, redecorate and reorganize the entire apartment. instead of going crazy or over budget, i try to stick to smaller items that have a big impact. a bright or patterned pillow is a perfect solution. now try and pick just one...

1/ ma and grandy beautiful mess cushion   2/ crate and barrel hob nail pillow   3/ serena & lily pacific salon pillow   4/ nate berkus pillow with studs   5/ h&m jacquard weave cushion   6/ cotton & flax golden plus linen pillow

a new year

happy new year! i realize we are already two weeks into january, but i took some extra time to relax and refuel.  i also took my time thinking about what goals i want to achieve in the coming year. celebrating the new year and my birthday in the same month always makes it seem like it really is a fresh start, even if it's all in my head! anyways, as i get older and time goes by, i have gotten much better at setting specific goals and reaching them. in fact, if i want to achieve something and don't set a goal or write it down somewhere, chances are i will get busy and forget about it or push it to the back of my mind. some of my goals for 2014 sound pretty general but i have broken them down into smaller more concrete goals for myself and i'll try and share my progress as the year progresses. here's to a wonderful year. xoxo

the holidays

i can hardly believe the holidays are almost over. like every year, it went by way too quickly. and i hardly took any photos. it was a whirlwind but so wonderful. i love christmas and all the family traditions that come with it. sitting around the fireplace, enjoying christmas morning mimosas, and listening to our favourite carols - just to name a few. i am so thankful we got to spend it with our families and see so many of our friends. xoxo
